Greetings to the APH Membership:

I am honored to be Chair of the APH Conference Scholarship Fund for 2004, its second year of existence. Following is a bit about the Fund and how you can participate. You will find the application requirements by scrolling below.

One of the goals of APH is to develop well-trained Personal Historians in this important and gratifying field of endeavor. The APH Annual Conference provides an excellent opportunity to learn some of the skills necessary to do this most important work well. It is also a fabulous opportunity to meet other enthusiastic and committed Personal Historians who are always willing to share their personal experiences. Sharing our work experiences is inspiring and educational for all Personal Historians.

The Conference Scholarship Fund was created in 2003 to provide assistance to APH members who might otherwise be unable to attend the Annual Conference. Two full Scholarships covering the early registration fee were awarded last year, thanks to generous contributions from the membership. The APH Board voted to continue the program annually and provided some seed money to launch the Scholarship Fund as an ongoing opportunity. Between the early donations to the Fund received during the January membership renewal time and contributions in response to this invitation, we hope to have funds available to award three full Scholarships this year.

We invite all APH members to lend your support by making a contribution to the Conference Scholarship Fund. You may send your contributions to APH Treasurer, Marty Walton, 5488 Woodbridge Lane, Dayton, OH 45429. Please make your checks out to Association of Personal Historians, indicating Conference Scholarship Fund on them. There is also a place on the Conference Registration page in which to indicate your contribution, both in print and online.

If you have any questions, please contact me at or at
415-928-3417.

The entire APH organization and those awarded Scholarships are grateful for your participation.

Thank you,

Elizabeth A. Wright, Chair
2004 Conference Scholarship Fund
