Your Volunteer Help is Needed During the Conference
Please sign up on the registration form and be prepared to accept extreme gratitude and voluminous praise! Specific details about what's needed will be communicated to volunteers prior to the conference.
There are five areas where you can help:
Joy Miller again will be overseeing on-site registration. Volunteer support is needed during the day Wednesday to put the registration materials together, and staff the registration table, on Wednesday evening and at break and meal times throughout the conference. Please contact
Laura Blumenthal and former conference attendees will welcome new APH members and those who are attending their first APH conference, and will facilitate dinner plans for those who want to group together to try one of the town's many excellent restaurants. Being a greeter is a wonderful opportunity to mix, mingle and get to know fellow APHers. Please contact Laura Blumenthal at
APH will be selling books written by our speakers and some of our workshop presenters, as well as our own APH publications, materials and T-shirts. During break times, lunch and Town Square, the APH store will be open next to the registration area. Joy Miller will be in charge but will need volunteer help.
Workshop hosts will introduce the presenter, collect evaluations, and will assist the speaker to ensure that the workshop runs smoothly. If you volunteer to be a host, we'll make sure that it's for one of the workshops you sign up for! Please contact John Morrison at
Al Betz, Honorary Mayor, would like volunteers to help organize the Friday set-up of Town Square into areas arranged by Personal History format: Audio, Video, Print, Multi-Media, etc. Please contact John Morrison at
Thanks to the Conference Program Committee for volunteering their time to plan this conference: John and Jennifer Morrison, Al Betz, Jeanne Archer, Paula Stahel, Lettice Stuart, Stephanie Kadel Taras, and Paula Yost. Their thoughtful research, ideas, discussions and effort over the past year led to what many consider the best conference program yet! And thanks to Mary Breakstone, Marty Walton, Peggy Moody, and Linda Coffin for the know-how to pull it all together and present it to you in this form.
It's not too early to put your name in as a potential Conference Program Committee Member for next year's conference (location and dates to be announced in August). To volunteer, please email and indicate what aspect(s) of conference planning you would like to help with.
