Imagine, after three intense days of Furnishing Your Business With the Tools for Success, stepping back in time, jumping into the saddle of your favorite horse, and riding into the sunset without a care in the world! Saturday evening you can do just that at the Public Museum of Grand Rapids. The museum features a restored and working 1928 carousel overlooking the Grand River with 44 horses, 6 menagerie animals, 2 chariots, and over 1,200 incandescent lights. A 1928 Wurlitzer Band Organ provides carousel music. And you will be able to ride for free all evening.
Under a 75-foot long Finback whale skeleton—believed to be the largest on exhibit anywhere in the world—you'll dine on a variety of scrumptious and worldly cuisine provided at different food stations along the main museum floor. An authentic streetcar will be your gateway to a re-constructed 1890s Grand Rapids with storefronts displaying the medicines, clothing, tools, and toys commonplace during that era. Enter the train station to listen to the sounds of arrival in Grand Rapids over a hundred years ago.
Later we'll have a lively DJ and, as Rupert Everett said in "My Best Friend's Wedding", "By God there will be dancing." You'll also have the option to relax along the "streets" of old Grand Rapids and network with your old and new friends. In short, we'll have something for everybody—and for those who feel the need to turn in early, our hotel is just a two-minute walk across the river.
If that's not enough, we're working on one more Saturday evening event that you certainly won't want to miss—an opportunity to win valuable equipment and services to truly Furnish Your Business With the Tools for Success.
Don't miss the conference and don't miss Saturday Night Live—1890! It will be the talk within APH for a long time to come!
