Conference Registration Information

REGISTER NOW FOR APH’S 10TH ANNIVERSARY CONFERENCE 2004

REGISTRATION FEES INCLUDE:
• Welcome reception on Wednesday evening
• Participation in all general sessions & workshops
• Continental breakfast Thursday thru Sunday
• Break snacks at break times
• Lunch Thursday and Saturday
• Saturday evening dinner and celebration party
• Town Square Wednesday evening thru Friday noon—an expanded opportunity for members to display or share their work at no charge.
Vendors and members interested in selling their products may rent a table.

COMPANION / GUEST INFORMATION:
APH members may bring spouses or business partners to the conference at the special companion rate. Conditions for this rate are:
• One APH member pays the full registration rate
• Companion is either a spouse, life partner or business partner
• Business partner has same business address

Guests are also welcome to join registrants for individual conference meals, with one week (minimum) advance notice.

Children 14 and younger have reduced rates. Parents will need to make their own child care arrangements.

REFUND POLICY: Cancellations will be accepted through October 11 and are subject to a cancellation fee of $50 for a full conference registration and $25 for a one day registration. No refunds will apply to cancellations after October 11.

PHOTOS FOR CONFERENCE DIRECTORY: Please send your name and photo (black/white or color OK) by October 22 (firm deadline!) to Mary Breakstone, 675 West End Ave. #14A, New York, NY 10025, or attach a 300 dpi .tif or .psd file in a folder and email it to If you sent a photo for last year’s conference directory, we can use that unless you instruct Mary otherwise.

• Single or double occupancy Studio Suite:
$99 per night, plus 12.5% in taxes
• 1-bedroom Premiere Double Suite with pull-out sleeper sofa: $119 per night, plus 12.5% in taxes
$20 per person extra charge for more than
two people in Premiere Double Suite

When making reservations, to get the special rate, be sure to state you will be attending the APH Conference. This rate is good for three days before and after the conference, so invite a partner or friend and enjoy the attractions Baltimore and Washington DC have to offer.

Reservations cut-off date is October 11. All rooms not reserved by then will be released for sale to other guests. APH registrants will then be accommodated on a space available basis at regular hotel rates.

Cancellation policy: The hotel requires 24 hours notice prior to the arrival date or a first night’s room and tax will be charged.

TRAVEL INFORMATION:
By Air: Baltimore-Washington Airport (BWI)
BlueVan SuperShuttle to hotel: Go to lower level and follow signs to the SuperShuttle desk located between bag claims 6 and 7. Discounted round trip rate of $18 by telling desk clerk the group name of “Association of Personal Historians.” No need for advance reservations—the shuttle service runs from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.
By Amtrak: to Baltimore train station, taxi to hotel
By Car: The Tremont Plaza hotel is on the west side
of St. Paul Street, 3 blocks south of US Route 40. Parking: Valet parking at the hotel is $25/day. Just beyond the hotel on St. Paul is a parking garage for $13/day and another is around the corner on
Lexington for $12/day.

WE INVITE NON-MEMBERS TO JOIN THE ASSOCIATION OF PERSONAL HISTORIANS

Effective August 1, registrants who are not former members may join APH at the reduced membership dues rate of $50 US or $60 CAD. Your membership will be valid through January 2005, the month in which 2005 membership dues are payable. Joining APH prior to registering for the conference qualifies you to use member registration rates.
