Memories of Nashville

You're going to love the "Members in the Movies" video, the "Moments to Remember" photo slideshows, and the great background music (don't miss 2007 Conference Chair Jane Baxter's Listen--a haunting, lovely song she wrote and performed just for us). Those who were lucky enough to be there will relish the trip down Memory Lane, while those wondering what an APH conference is really like will enjoy this taste of what our annual gatherings are all about.
- Paula Yost, APH Events Manager

Members in the Movies
To provide an overview of the conference experience, enterprising APH videographer Tom Forster created a candid video documentary of the 2007 conference, with beautiful music offered by Heidi Muller. The descriptions from key organizers and the enthusiasm of the participants come through loud and clear — it's not too late to enjoy last year's conference!

Moments to Remember
Three talented APH members collaborated to bring you these great candid photos of just a few of the exciting, warm and even humorous moments from our time in Nashville. Photographers Extraordinaire Roger West and Sue Knight provided the photos and then Bob Breakstone added music and created the PhotoVideos.

Listen logo Listen was the theme for the 2007 Annual Conference in Franklin, Tn (near Nashville). Listening is a key element of our work as personal historians. We listen carefully to the stories our clients tell us, and to the feelings and meaning behind their words, in order to preserve for future generations the full sense of their lives.

What more appropriate place for personal historians to gather in 2007 than in Nashville, where listening to the human experience has developed into a rich tradition of celebrating personal stories through music? Read about the Origin of the Listen Theme and read the lyrics or sing along as you listen to the full song.

The conference was so rich in information and good advice that our brains were on overload very soon, but in a wonderful way.
—Pat McNees
Thanks for letting me come.
And play.
And Listen.
There was no real “Show & Sell.” Instead, it was generosity that prevailed.
A place to share my voice and hear others. To be aligned with so many like-minded (like-souled/like-hearted) individuals was unparalleled.
—Peter Savigny
I highly recommend volunteering to those attending their first conference and/or new to APH. It was fun and a great way to begin meeting others!
